Working observations, notes, and papers on the nature of self, observation, and everyday human experience.
The Operative Self
The Operative Self is the self that is revealed through our habitual engagement with experiences as they arise within us. It is distinct from the self we describe, the self we wish to be, or the self we believe ourselves to be. Through sustained observation of these arising experiences and our response (or non-response) to them, we can begin to see what we are actually being, rather than merely what we say we are.
Success Upon Realisation
Success Upon Realisation refers to the immediate sense of success that arises the moment a consciously chosen inner objective is met. In the practice of observation, this means that the instant you recognise an arising experience and realise that engagement with it is optional, the objective is already fulfilled. Success is not waiting for some future external result — it is experienced directly in the act of clear seeing itself.
